Our store is located on Connecticut Avenue, right at the intersection with Nebraska Avenue.
It is in the middle between Van Ness/UDC and Chevy Chase Circle.
Parking: We have a parking lot in the rear of the store. If you are driving north on Connecticut, turn right at Fessenden Street then make an immediate left. The entrance to the lot is just before you enter the woods, on the left. If you are driving south on Connecticut you will pass the store on your left after you cross Nebraska Avenue. Make a left turn at Fessenden. There is also street parking.
The parking lot fills up quickly for our evening author talks. After speaking with a representative of the DC Police Department, we were told that parking on 36th Street behind the store (past Garrison) is available on both sides of the road until the road narrows. You may also park in the nearby neighborhoods for two hours where posted. However, our neighbors ask that you do not block or park in their driveways. Politics & Prose is also reachable by public transportation.
Metro: Take the Red Line to Van Ness. We are one mile north on Connecticut (a 15 minute walk). You can also take and L1 or L2 bus (heading towards Chevy Chase Circle) from that Metro stop. Or you can take the Red Line to Tenleytown, head to the corner of Nebraska and Fort Dr. NW & catch the M4 BUS (heading towards PINEHURST/SIBLEY HOSP/TENLEYTOWN STATION). Either one will put you within a few paces of the bookstore.
